Transcript

There is a wave of innovation in apparel at the moment. The industry is growing at 25% per annum and there are a lot of new entrants and competitive intensity is rising. So how do you stay differentiated if you’re a well-established brand with a distinct design style? And one of the ways to do that is to sell scarcity and you can do that really easily in print on demand by uniquely numbering and serializing your creation with a 2D barcode incorporated into the design. It’s a sort of technique that’s long been used by the high quality art print marketplace where a statement of authenticity is provided with each print. The application of this to the apparel marketplace is to uniquely number a t-shirt as say one of 500 and then printing a QR or 2D barcode which when scanned tells the story of this unique creation. By executing in this way you are selling scarcity, creating brand buzz and creating potentially a really profitable product line. And from a workflow automation perspective with a platform like ZenSmart it’s trivial to implement this. If you’d like to know how we can go about helping create a business model like this, reach out, we’d love to talk with you about it. Thank you.
