AI In POD: Hype? (Video)

2 min read

So, is the impact of AI on print on demand something that is happening NOW or is it all hype, froth and bubble? In this week’s video I run through 4 places where it is real, now and strategically impactful.

Transcript

I was meeting with the print-on-demand factory owner yesterday who was asking me, in my opinion, just how real is AI to print-on-demand today? Is it all froth and bubble and am I seeing real application for print-on-demand businesses? In short, the answer is yes. There are four specific areas that we currently either have implemented or are acting on that have strategic implications for how print-on-demand businesses run. So quickly running through those four, number one, we’re using AI to make a radical difference in the ability to onboard different order sources. So that if it’s a proprietary or perhaps a little bit broken order source, we can use AI to bring that on at a cost and a speed that’s never been achievable before. So that means you can get more orders into your business. Application two is the ability to go and onboard big skew ranges. So that means that if you’re going to automate, then you can implement the entire range that you have and do it at the speed of light inside the platform. Impact three is the ability to innovate and add new product lines. It’s quite similar to the example two that I provided because you can onboard such big ranges and all of their varieties and do it automatically using AI as a tool, then the speed of implementation is amazing. And so the rate of change is really high. Fourth application is insight. You can use AI now in order to go and look at all that’s going on in manufacturing, people performance, machine availability, throughput, orders going over SLA that gives you the ability just to have a chat with the AI and find out what’s really going on in in production. So four quick takeaways for where AI is impacting business today. It’s real and it’s it’s happening now. Go well.
