Don’t Neglect the Helicopter View (Video)

< 1 min read

When was the last time you stepped back and took a helicopter view of your business? In print-on-demand, it’s easy to get caught up in daily operations, but now—before peak season—is the perfect time to assess your machines, materials, people, and processes. This week’s post is a reminder to take a step back, evaluate all the moving parts, and maximize your profitability. Are you ready to work on your business, not just in it?

When was the last time you took a helicopter view of your business? I mean really stepping back and looking at all the individual inputs to make your business the engine that it is. When was the last time you evaluated your machines, materials, people, processes and product mix to deeply reflect on the contribution of each of those into maximising the profitability of your business? As the old average goes, you need to work on the business, not just be consumed by working in the business. One of the key challenges in print on demand is that the daily SLA driven pressures and the inherent volatility of production really tend to focus very much on the day to day. So this week’s post is a reminder that it’s important to take a step back from time to time, invest the necessary effort to assess the bigger picture of your business and reveal all the individual leaders that can help extract maximum performance from your business. And with peak season fast approaching, there is no time like the present in order to adopt that helicopter view. Go well and take care. Thank you.
